The Daily Choice To Forgive

Ephesians 4:31–32

The Daily Choice To Forgive

Forgiveness is often a repeated decision when painful memories return.

Teaching

Forgiveness releases our right to repay the person who hurt us. It does not call wrong behavior acceptable, and it does not remove every consequence.

Painful memories may return after we have chosen to forgive. When they do, we can repeat that decision and bring the hurt to God instead of rehearsing revenge or bitterness.

Put It Into Practice

Name the offense honestly before God. Choose to release it again, then decide whether a wise boundary or a direct conversation is also needed.

Takeaway

Forgiveness may require more than one decision. Each time the pain returns, choose again to release the offense to God.
